Our story

Our story begins in the 1950s, when a small grocery, deli, and dairy store opened its doors in Port Washington under the name Ziggy’s Harbor Dairy. About ten years later, it became what the community would come to know and love as Harbor Deli.

In June of 1997, after spending his entire career in food retail and customer service, Harry DeFeo purchased the deli alongside his wife, Diane, and their children. From day one, their vision was simple: create a place where neighbors could gather, talk, laugh, and enjoy great food together.

That family-first mindset still guides everything we do today. Harbor Deli has always been about more than just food. It’s about community, consistency, and making sure every customer feels right at home.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. SUPERB HEROS 🥇🥇 15 riders landed here for a quick bite & refuel of caffeine. The chicken cutlet with provolone on a hero was superb. The guys kept raving about it. I enjoyed my egg & cheese with onions on a panini. I did read some negative reviews. But our experience was nothing short of spectacular. Harry has taken control of the helm and things are in tip top shape. We are returning Sunday to try the infamous GHOST MOTORCYCLE 😊😊.
