Our Story
Our story begins in the 1950s, when a small grocery, deli, and dairy store opened its doors in Port Washington under the name Ziggy’s Harbor Dairy. About ten years later, it became what the community would come to know and love as Harbor Deli.
In June of 1997, after spending his entire career in food retail and customer service, Harry DeFeo purchased the deli alongside his wife, Diane, and their children. From day one, their vision was simple: create a place where neighbors could gather, talk, laugh, and enjoy great food together.
That family-first mindset still guides everything we do today. Harbor Deli has always been about more than just food. It’s about community, consistency, and making sure every customer feels right at home.
